How we handle your photos and data

Every photo and video you upload goes to our servers first, and is changed before anyone sees it:

• Photos are turned the right way up, shrunk to at most 2,000 pixels on the long side and saved again as a new JPEG without their hidden data (location, camera, date).
• Videos (up to 60 seconds) are copied into a new file without their hidden data, including location, and we take one still frame from each to use as a preview.
• We don’t keep the file you uploaded, only the processed copy.

This removes what’s hidden inside the file. It can’t remove what’s in the picture, so before you publish we ask you to check every photo for faces, documents, screens and post with your name on it.

• Your account: email address, name, a scrambled (hashed) copy of your password, and your home building if you set one.
• Your phone number, if you add one, and whether you’ve verified it.
• Your sales, items, the processed photos and videos, offers, and the messages you exchange with buyers and sellers.
• If you ask for a mover: the drop-off area, notes, date and contact number you give us.
• Counts of what happens on the site, such as how often a sale page is opened or a share button is used. These are only ever looked at added up across the site, to see whether it’s working.

Nothing is public until you publish a sale. Once you do, anyone with the link can see:

• the sale’s name and description, your building and its area, and your pickup window and notes
• each item’s photos, videos, description and price
• the name on your account, as the seller

Your flat number is only shown to a buyer once their offer is accepted, on their offer page and pickup pass. Your phone number and email are never shown on a sale page.

Your friends link works like the public link with lower prices. You never see who opened it, who looked at what, or who decided not to buy; you only see purchases once they’re agreed.

• If a sale has never been published, its photos and videos are deleted 30 days after you last edited it. We warn you in the app 7 days before, and any edit restarts the clock.
• Photos on a sale that has been published are kept, as a record of the condition items were sold in.
• Deleting a draft sale, or a photo, removes it straight away.

We don’t send email or text messages yet. Notifications about offers, messages and your sales only appear in the app, under the bell at the top of the page. Phone verification will send a text with a code once it’s switched on.

No payments go through this site. Buyers and sellers settle up in person at pickup, so we never see or store card or bank details.
